Three Years of Fall, #6 (1,095 Leaves)

Swirling leaves giving clues to the changing seasons. There are exactly 1,095 leaves in this painting, a meditation on time passing and seasons changing. 1,095 represents the number of days in three years.

This painting is made by layering acrylic paint and clear resin. I repeat this process many times over and the result is a thick painting that contains shadows that change with the light source. (Please note that images are taken with bright lighting and show shadows that may not be present when the painting is in normal room lighting.) This painting has a glossy surface and glossy sides. The resin is around 1 inch thick, and is ready to hang without a frame.

Caring for a resin painting is easy. Simply wipe fingerprints off with a microfiber cloth. Any dirt can be gently wiped off with a soft wet cloth and wiped dry. The high quality resin I use is made for artwork and contains a UV filter that prevents discoloration. However, it is best to not hang this art in direct sunlight.
